Major road works are set to begin in Salford, taking months to complete at a cost of £700,000. Upgrades to Eccles Old Road will begin in August and includes resurfacing, drainage works, and new road markings, as well as removing the existing bus lane.
A council report stated the road is a 'a site of concern' due to its deteriorating condition. The scheme aims to make improvements to the quality of public transport and active travel routes, such as the existing cycling lanes.
Work is expected to continue until October, but Salford council did not confirm whether it would cause any disruption to motorists.
