An updated Clean Air Plan for Greater Manchester is set to be submitted to the government - with a continued non-charging commitment for drivers.
A request to allow authorities here to take down the more than 1,000 Clean Air Zone signs across Greater Manchester will also be included in the plan.
Transport and local government bosses today (Wednesday, September 18) unveiled revisions to a submission made in December last year - and said latest air quality data showed improvements on roads across the region.
They said 'modelling' has shown the updated plan would meet a legal requirement to improve air quality by 2026 at the latest, rather than in 2025 as stated in the 2023 submission to Government.
