Brent Lang Executive Editor Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of indie distributor Magnolia Pictures, has acquired North American rights to “The Seeding,” a new horror-thriller.
It marks the feature directorial debut of Barnaby Clay and world premiered in Tribeca Midnight “The Seeding” is about a hiker who gets lost in the desert and seeks refuge with a woman who is living alone.
He soon discovers that she might not be there willingly. “The Seeding” stars Scott Haze (“Venom” and “Jurassic World Dominion”) and Kate Lyn Sheil (“You’re Next” and “V/H/S”).
It will next screen at LA’s Beyond Fest and is in competition at this year’s edition of Sitges film festival. Magnet will release the film early next year. “Barnaby Clay has delivered a truly unsettling, shockingly nightmarish film with ‘The Seeding,’” said Magnolia Pictures co-CEOs Eamonn Bowles and Dori Begley in a statement.
