Monday night's episode seemingly saw the last of this year's Married at First Sight UK weddings take place – but it's been revealed that surprises are on the horizon.
In a MAFS UK first, a shake-up borrowed from the popular Australian version of the show will see extra couples walk down the aisle part way through the series, and then added to the main group.
Experts Charlene Douglas, 41, Paul C Brunson, 47, and Mel Schilling, 50, who match up the couples and then assist the newlyweds as they attempt to make things work, spoke to The Sun about what is in store for viewers and promised “more drama than ever before.” The newly married couples will face an “intruder” that will test their relationships to the extreme and Mel said it will “really throw a spanner in the works.” She explained: “The new couples thrown in confronts the other couples and shakes up the social dynamic.
We’ve really upped the ante this year." So far this series, there have been cheating scandals on honeymoons, lost wedding rings and reception dramas, but it looks as if the tension will continue.The 30-episode series will see the experts guide the contestants through challenges, and this year, two same-sex couples are taking part.
