The suspect at the centre of the latest developments in the Madeleine McCann case has an alibi which is backed by several people, a TV show has claimed.
Convicted rapist Christian Brueckner has been named as an arguido - suspect - by Portuguese authorities who are continuing to investigate the disappearance of Maddie, which took place during a family holiday in Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007.
However a new documentary will claim that four witnesses have come forward to support an alibi Brueckner has given. The Mirror reports that the alibi will reportedly explain the whereabouts of Brueckner, who is serving seven years in Germany for the 2005 rape of a pensioner, in the days leading up to Maddie's disappearance.
The Channel 5 documentary, 'Madeleine McCann: Investigating The Prime Suspect', will be shown on May 3 to mark the anniversary of the day the three-year-old went missing.
