'Mad Max' Prequel Film 'Furiosa' Starring Anya Taylor-Joy Premiere Date Pushed Back

Furiosa, the upcoming prequel movie focused on the Mad Max: Fury Road character, has been delayed. With Anya Taylor-Joy in the title role, Warner Bros.

announced a slight delay in the premiere of the film. Click inside to read more about the delay… According to Variety, the movie was set to to open on June 23, 2023.

Now though, it will hit screens on Memorial Day of 2024. There was no clear reason given for the movie at this time. As it stands, Furiosa will start shooting in 2022, bring at least $350M AUD into the local economy and create 850 new jobs in the country.

Furiosa will also star Chris Hemsworth, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, with Anya taking on the role of Imperator Furiosa, a part played by Charlize Theron in Fury Road.
