In spite of McCormick’s vague post and no blatant callout, he still managed to catch the attention of the production. Rivulet Media, the film’s production company, released a statement to E!
News informing fans the title “Good News” was created with no malicious intent, rather in an effort to pay homage to the late rapper, who died of an accidental overdose in 2018 at the age of 26. “Our film is about a fictional musician on the rise with a troubled life.
