Police investigating a brutal machete murder bid on a member of the Daniel crime clan have vowed to catch two further suspects.

Robert Daniel was left seriously injured after the terrifying 60-second attempt on his life at a council dump in Glasgow’s west end last September.

A major police investigation was launched after two masked thugs in high-vis clothing leapt from a black Ford Kuga before viciously slashing and hacking at their 41-year-old victim.

The getaway vehicle - driven by the now convicted Ryan Quinn - was later found burnt out in the city’s Yoker area. Quinn was jailed for for four years at the High Court in Glasgow on Thursday after previously admitting an attempted murder charge. The court was told how the unemployed 27-year-old did not know the victim and had been recruited via social media with the promise of being paid.Investigators have welcomed his prison sentence but have said they are doing everything they can to catch another two suspects, who remain at large.Detective Chief Inspector John Morrison from Greater Glasgow Division said: “This was a planned attack in broad daylight in the middle of a busy area which left the victim with significant injuries.“This type of crime will not be tolerated and we will continue to target those who are involved in this sort of activity as we work to make our communities safer. The Daily Record and Sunday Mail have always been at the forefront when it comes to reporting crime in Scotland. But did you know all the ways you can stay informed of the top crime and courts headlines? We share live crime news and exclusive court stories as well as features and columns on historical cases, keeping our readers informed and updated across the country.“I hope this
