Emergency crews rushed to the M62 earlier this afternoon following a car fire.Two lanes were closed eastbound near junction 21 at around 1.30pm today (Sunday).Highways England tweeted a photo of the vehicle on fire and smoke billowing into the sky.They told drivers to avoid the area.All lanes have since been reopened.At 1.38pm, Highways England posted: "Two lanes are now closed on the M62 eastbound between Junction 21 for Milnrow and junction 22 for Rocking Stones due to a vehicle fire near Rakewood Viaduct."Traffic Officers and Manchester Fire are on scene."Delays are expected."North West Motorway Police also tweeted about the blaze.The force said: "We have an incident on M62 eastbound J21 and J22 just after Rakewood viaduct.
