The Lyons crime clan has been hit by the death of a senior family member.Garage owner David Lyons yesterday died in hospital hours after falling outside his home.
The 63-year-old is believed to have suffered a fatal heart attack, which is suspected to have been triggered by a serious head injury.Lyons was found outside his home in Cumbernauld, near Glasgow, shortly after midnight on Saturday.
It’s reported that the grandad was lying outside for almost an hour before being discovered. Sources said last night family members called 999 for an ambulance several times before ferrying Lyons to Monklands General Hospital A&E in Airdrie themselves.A hospital insider last night said around 60 people visited his bedside before Lyons lost his fight for life.
His son Paul Lyons – who is serving a prison sentence for a road rage killing – was escorted from jail to say his final goodbyes.
