French outfit Lyon have reportedly outmuscled Manchester United to become frontrunners in the race for Feyenoord defender Tyrell Malacia.
The left-back has been linked with an Old Trafford switch over the last few months as Erik ten Hag begins a squad rebuild. United have said they are willing to listen to offers for Brandon Williams after a stale loan spell at Norwich.
Despite having Under-23s player of the season Alvaro Fernandez among his youth ranks, reports suggest Ten Hag is looking for another left-back.
Luke Shaw is currently considered first-choice, though Alex Telles managed to get a decent runout this season amid the England international’s injuries.
