Luke Littler has seemingly confirmed the reason why he has withdrawn from the upcoming Hungarian Darts Trophy, set to take place this weekend.

Littler was due to take part in the tournament and would have come into the event in good form, having recently won the World Series Of Darts and become Premier League champion in his debut campaign, but has chosen to sit this one out.

Those attempting to work out just why the 17-year-old has taken this decision did not have to wait long for an answer after the teenager responded to a social media post suggesting the reason was linked to the EAFC 25 early access being on the same weekend as the darts competition.

Littler, an avid gamer and football fan, responded to this accusation of his absence and the release of the popular video game by saying: "What a coincidence."
