Luigi Mangione has someone backing him in a big way. A mystery donor just gave the 26-year-old accused killer of UnitedHealthcare insurance CEO Brian Thompson a donation of $36,500, and provided an explanation in a note.
The donation arrived to the official defense fund earlier this week, marking the biggest donation to date by any individual, per People.
The donor also supplied a comment explaining the donation. The new top donation has increased the total raised for his defense fund to over $722,000, bringing the total closer to the fund’s goal sum of $1 million.
