The Love Island villa witnessed a dramatic shake-up earlier this week, with Scott Thomas making the decision to walk away from the show, closely followed by Ron Hall's departure.
On the programme, Scott shared with his fellow Islanders that he felt it was "the right time" to go after having second thoughts about his connection with Tina Innes.
Meanwhile, Ron chose to leave after failing to spark a romance with anyone in the villa. Now, Love Island alum Marcel Somerville has weighed in on the reasons behind their exits from the All Stars series, suggesting that the pressure to make relationships work can be overwhelming.
Chatting exclusively in the Mirror's Bombshell Briefing, Marcel confided to hosts Lauren Morris and Niamh Kirk that Scott's departure caught him off guard, but he could relate to the reasoning. "He was in there from the start, big character, he's had two romances in there but when you break it down, it's a situation of sometimes you can be putting yourself into something and staying in something because you're on the show," Marcel explained. "If you can't see that relationship doing it on the outside, maybe you staying in there and getting to the final - the pressure that comes with you being on the show so you've got to stay together outside, sometimes that can play in your head." He shared his insights on Scott's departure, insisting that forcing a romantic spark with Tina Innes wasn't an option. "If you're not feeling that connection, sometimes it's best to stop before it gets too deep and then you're dealing with the public saying, 'You should stay with her, you should do this, do that.'" "If you're not fully in it, you're going to find it hard to carry it on.
