Love Island star Sam Gowland has followed up earlier posts commenting on the case of missing teenager Jay Slater with a reaction to the latest update.The TV personality, who also appeared in Geordie Shore, wrote: “Absolutely shell shocked #jayslater #tenerife #explore #explorepage #fypage #foryou #foryoupage,” reacting to the news that a body has been found in the Masca area of the popular holiday island of Tenerife.

Apprentice bricklayer Jay, 19, went missing on June 17 in a remote area of Tenerife after visiting the island for a three day music festival with friends.

He left them to travel to a remote Airbnb rental with two other people in the early hours, and his last location via his phone was the Parque Rural de Teno nature reserve.

On Monday 15 July, Spanish police in Tenerife released a statement saying they had found a body and were in the process of identifying it, with officers telling the press that “Evidence strongly suggests” that the remains are those of Jay.
