Iain Stirling, the voiceover star of Love Island, surprised fans with a behind-the-scenes secret. Despite the show being filmed in Mallorca, the comedian revealed that he records his commentary from the spare room of his London home.
In a TikTok video captioned: “A Day in the life of the Love Island Voice Over guy”, Iain, 35, showed his daily routine, including a trip into town for a morning gym session before a spot of brunch at 11am with his wife and ex-host Laura Whitmore.
He then heads to the studio, a.k.a his spare room, which is fully equipped with a large double-monitor computer, recording equipment and software.
He then introduces his colleague Mark on Zoom, who he writes the show alongside. He then shares a sneak behind-the-scenes of his iconic intro: “Tonight on Love Island.” Fans of the show were quick to comment on the home set-up, with one writing: “Always thought you’d be working in some ITV studio so this now feels so strange.” Another added: “I just love that your neighbours will hear “tonight” through the walls.” A third commented: “ur telling me u don’t live in some hidden room in the villa doing the voiceover live ???” While a fourth wrote: “most iconic voice in the UK tv.” Love Island kicked off its new series this week as a new batch of singletons headed into the famous Mallorcan villa ready for a summer of love.
