Love Island star Mike Boateng has broken his silence on a racist incident that allegedly took place during his time in the police force, and claims a colleague called him a ‘gorilla’. The 24-year-old, who found fame on the winter series of ITV2’s Love Island this year, was a member of the Greater Manchester Police force before his stint on the hit dating series.
While appearing on the show, it emerged that Mike had complained to the force about a racial slur that was used by a colleague.
Although his family spoke out about the incident, Mike had remained silent until now. He is set to detail what happened in an interview which will air on his YouTube channel this Friday (27 March).
