Love Island contestant Mary Bedford has paid a touching tribute to her ‘beautiful’ grandmother after learning she passed away while she was in the villa.

In an emotional post shared with her Instagram followers, Mary revealed the sad news and said returning to the UK had been a ‘bitter sweet’ experience as she flew home to attend the funeral.

Sharing a sweet photo of herself posing alongside her beloved gran, Mary wrote: ‘Our angel on earth is now our angel in heaven.’ ‘Coming off the show has been bitter sweet for me as I flew home to go to the funeral of my beautiful grandma who passed away whilst I was in the villa.’ A post shared by Mary Bedford (@mary_bedford) The model added: ‘I’ve been taking the time since the show to mourn,
