The debut episode of Love Island Games had fans buzzing with excitement, but not long into the show, viewers had already started to grumble about the format.
Instead of the usual quick coupling up we see on Love Island, the contestants all entered the villa in Fiji and had a chat. But fans were quick to moan about the lengthy introductions on social media. "These intros should not be this damn long," one viewer complained, sharing a photo of someone tugging at their own hair.
Another added: "This intro mad long, it's just not that serious. How long does it take to introduce people we already know??" After the introductions, the Islanders met host Maya Jama, who has been presenting the UK version of Love Island for the past few seasons.
Then, before the coupling, the Islanders took part in a spy-themed challenge which decided the order in which the girls would choose who they wanted to couple up with.
