Love Island fans 'writing to Ofcom' after being 'traumatised' by food challenge

Love Island fans were left unhappy with Monday night's challenge which saw the contestants spitting food into each other’s mouths.The food challenge is a Love Island staple but with Covid-19 cases back on the rise in numerous countries, fans questioned whether it was the right time to air the game.

The 'Spit the Roast' challenge saw the couples attempt to serve a roast dinner by passing the food from one side of the decking to the other using just their mouths.The boys had to pick up each piece of food with their mouths, before transferring it to their partner's at the halfway point.

The first round of the game also saw the boys throwing slices of meat at the girls – who had to catch it without using their hands.
