Love Island stars Mitchel Taylor and Ella Barnes have been accused by some fans of faking their relationship for fame, following their split.

Both Mitch and Ella confirmed their split in separate statements posted on their Instagram stories on Thursday, 31 August. Mitch, 27, claimed that the reason they have decided to call it a day is because they live on opposite ends of the country.

While Ella, 23, didn't give a reason for the big decision, but she wishes him "all the best." However, some unimpressed fans insist that they knew that they weren't going to work since they left the villa six weeks ago.

One person said: "It irks me when couples fake a relationship. They should have just come out of the villa and said we tried in the villa, but in the real world, we’re not compatible or things just won’t work. "Otherwise, it just looks like you’re trying to deceive the public for extra followers or engagement.
