Love Island has received 1,509 new Ofcom complaints over the boys' "misogynistic behaviour".The government-approved regulatory and competition authority received the complaints after last week's Snog, Marry, Pie challenge and Movie Night. The new complaints came after Ofcom revealed last week that they've received nearly 3,000 complaints across Love Island episodes that aired the Movie Night and Pie challenge.

According to the government watchdog, 2,481 people complained over what took place on Sunday 17 July – which aired scenes from Movie Night.

The next day's episode on 18 July aired scenes of the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge, which received a further 413 complaints due to the "alleged bullying and misogynistic behaviour from some of the male contestants".The figures transmissed on 19 July on the Ofcom website show that the regulator received 1,509 complaints.

An Ofcom spokesperson told the Mirror: "The complaints were largely pertaining to the alleged misogynist behaviour of the male islanders in the wake of the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge." The challenge – which is a regular component of the hit ITV2 show – sees the girls and the boys take it in turns to play the game, concluding their choices by shoving a cream pie into the face of one of their fellow Islanders.Tensions ran high when Tasha Ghouri, 23, was pied in the face by Dami Hope, 26, and Luca Bish, 23, who gave their reasoning for pie-ing her due to her actions with her boyfriend Andrew Le Page, 28.
