The former United boss has hit out at Solskaer's tactics so far this season, arguing the Norwegian is too reactive to an opponent's threat instead of imposing his own style on his side - like during the recent derby draw with Manchester City where Van Gaal says United played like City's servants.
It means Van Gaal believes a similar fate could befall Solskjaer as happened to himself when he was sacked as United boss at the end of the 2015/16 season.
