Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage (born March 5, 1963), better known by his stage name Joe Exotic, is an American former zoo operator, internet personality, musician, and convicted felon. The former owner and operator of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park (a.k.a. G. W. Zoo) in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Maldonado-Passage had claimed to be the most prolific breeder of tigers in the United States. He twice unsuccessfully ran for public office, first for President of the United States in 2016 as an independent, and then for Governor of Oklahoma in 2018 as a Libertarian.
Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Fans of The Tiger King, listen up – Louis Theroux is setting off on an exploration into Joe Exotic’s world a decade after first meeting him.

The documentarian has spilled details about his next expose, a follow-up on Joseph Maldonado-Passage who he featured in his series America’s Most Dangerous Pets in 2011.

The pair spent time together on camera back then but since, Joe’s antics have seen him sentenced to 22 years in jail for ordering a hit on Carole Baskin.

Not only that, but he’s been slammed for violating multiple animal rights too. In his new documentary Louis is heading back to Oklahoma to follow up on the juicy story in a 90-minute show called The Cult of Joe Exotic.
