Cancer survivor Katie Pake had the surprise of her life when she went to London for an interview about her charity work. Daytime TV host Lorraine Kelly sprang out of a car outside a hotel to honour the amazing 12-year-old fundraiser with a Pride of Scotland award. “You didn’t expect to see me did you,” giggled Lorraine to shy Katie, who has been named STV’S Child of Courage.
Katie, of Fife, had a leg amputated two days before her 10th birthday because she had bone cancer, osteosarcoma. Since then she has been on a mission to raise money and awareness about childhood cancer.
