Liam James Payne (born 29 August 1993) is an English singer and songwriter.
He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction.
Payne made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for the British television series The X Factor in 2008. After being eliminated as a solo performer, he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four other contestants to form One Direction

Prior to his untimely passing, he had reunited with ex-girlfriend Cheryl to jointly parent their cherished son Bear. During Thursday's episode of Lorraine Kelly's chat show, the Scottish presenter, 64, honoured the singer, saying that the news is "unbelievably heartbreaking".
In an emotional moment, Lorraine expressed: "I was generally shocked when I saw this, it's absolutely tragic. I can't stop thinking about that poor wee boy because Cheryl is going to have to break the news to him," reports the Mirror.
She went on to say: "He is only seven years old and Liam was always talking about his son, he was a really devoted dad. He might not have been with him all the time but he was a very devoted dad.
