Lorraine Kelly emotional as she addresses co-star's death: 'Too young and too soon'

Lorraine Kelly paid tribute to a colleague on her show who died following a battle with terminal breast cancer.The TV presenter was emotional as she spoke about ITV producer Hannah Hawkins, who died just months after giving birth to her son.

Joined by Dr. Hilary on the show, the Scottish TV presenter paid tribute to Hannah, saying: "We’ve got some very sad news to share with you about a much-loved member of our team. "Our producer Hannah Hawkins died just before the weekend after discovering that her cancer had returned only a few months ago. "Just shortly after she gave birth to her beautiful boy Rory." Lorraine went on to call her "amazing," before listing all of her incredible charity work, which included raising awareness and money for breast cancer.

Dr. Hilary added: "So kind, so universally adored, we miss her terribly already, just 33 with a young son. It’s really a tragedy that we are all coming to terms with." Lorraine went on to add she couldn't bring herself to read Hannah's husband's Instagram post announcing her death because she didn't think she "would get through it." She also expressed that Hannah had died "too young and too soon." Hannah welcomed her baby son just two months ago when she was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time while pregnant.

Announcing her death on Instagram, Hannah's widower Tom shared a snap of her holding their baby son Rory as he penned a lengthy caption, which began: "Hannah Hawkins 11.12.89 - 3.11.23 "For someone whose love language was gift-giving, leaving us the day before my birthday was really not the one.
