The comedian gushed over the queen of daytime TV and she was ecstatic after the TV mention was pointed out to her on social media.
During the BBC show, which aired on Wednesday 2 June, Joe and judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young introduced the final challenge, Made to Measure.
In order to secure a place in the semi-finals, the sewers were required to make a Dreamgirls inspired garment, focused on the disco era.
