Lorde is speaking out after a supercut video from her 2017 Melodrama tour recently went viral on social media.

In the clip, the 25-year-old singer is seen instructing her fans to be quiet so she can perform her song “Writer in the Dark” a capella, prompting backlash from some social media users.

Over the weekend, Lorde shared a video to the Instagram account @lordecontent where addressed the clip and the reaction it’s gotten online.
