The Loose Women panellists were brought to tears on Thursday’s episode, as regular panelist Denise Welch opened up about her battle with depression.

During a frank and candid discussion about her experience with the debilitating illness on 25 August, the 64 year old star even admitted at one point she had willed a plane to crash while she was travelling to Australia with her young son Matt Healy, who has since gone on to write songs about her struggle.

The topic for Thursday’s episode was ‘Should you tell your kids when you are sick?’ and saw fellow panellist Coleen Nolan open up about the moment her late sister Bernie had told her daughter she was unwell.

However it was just moments later when Denise shared the intimate details of her depression and how her son, Matt, the lead singer of the award winning band The 1975 had been aware of her illness growing up.
