A ‘lonely’ man abducted a girl and spent the afternoon watching TV with her. Marc Wallwork, 38, met the child in the street and began talking with her.

She returned to his home nearby in Wigan and spent about five hours in his company. Wallwork gave the child food and the pair watched TV.

Police were alerted by a neighbour who saw the child enter his home. Manchester Crown Court heard Wallwork was ‘upset’ after being found guilty following a trial as he denies doing anything wrong.

A judge said the girl was unharmed, adding that he was satisfied Wallwork’s offending was not sexually motivated.
