The jury was told Frackiewicz called an associate on the phone to tell him Jadwiga had “passed away” and it was “probably a heart attack”.Frackiewicz was described as sounding “calm and normal” on the call.The trial began with advocate depute Alex Prentice QC reading the jury a joint minute of facts agreed by both prosecution and defence.The court heard Frackiewicz was a Polish national who came to the UK in 2012 and worked as a refuse collector for City of Edinburgh Council.Jadwiga was a Polish national who came to Scotland in around 2013 to live with her son.Mr Prentice said the son moved back to Poland after being injured at work, but Jadwiga stayed on in the city as she’d “made friends in the church.
