Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Lockerbie man raises funds for two new defibrillators for the community

A Lockerbie man has raised enough money to buy two new defibrillators for the community.Kenny Henry, who helped to save a man’s life last year using a device, has thanked supporters for their generous donations to his online fundraiser.He said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has donated and raised funds to go towards my quest to put more defibrillators out for the Lockerbie community to access.“I have raised £2,850 which will go towards two defibrillators and will be positioned in the town and surrounding area soon.“Thank you for your support, it is very much appreciated.”In February last year Kenny and off-duty nurse Julie Carruthers performed CPR for 20 minutes on Steve Cowie after he collapsed.

They used a community defibrillator twice from nearby Lockerbie ice rink until an ambulance arrived.Steve survived and has had a heart bypass operation and since then Crichton Trust staff member Kenny vowed to bring more of the life-saving equipment to the town.When the JustGiving page launched in December he said: “Lockerbie is an amazing community who always come together.“We honestly never know when we might need this amazing lifesaving piece of equipment, it really does save lives.“I would love to put more in Lockerbie and we won’t stop at this.”
