A yob who spat on a police officer admitted his behaviour was unacceptable.Scott Rodger’s lawyer told a court he was ashamed of his conduct, particularly in the current Covid-19 climate.Rodger, 26, of Sherry Avenue, Holytown, was fined £320 when he admitted charges of police assault and breaching bail.An allegation that he acted in a threatening or abusive manner and challenged people to fight was dropped.Hamilton Sheriff Court heard police officers were called to The Luing, Airdrie, shortly before 9pm on May 29.Chloe O’Hara, prosecuting, said they found Rodger to be “hostile and aggressive”.She added: “He was arrested and when he was being taken to the police van he turned to PC Sean Whitelie and spat on his leg.“Rodger was taken to
