Locals living in a landlocked town have been left confused by an artist's impressions of a brand new apartment complex. New drawings showed what the upcoming retirement development in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, is set to look like, with the rooms boasting 'stunning sea views'.
The marketing by Aspire Housing which showcased the £14 million over-55s complex Holborn Place left residents baffled as the Staffordshire town near Stoke-on-Trent is around 40 miles away from the seaside - therefore there will be no coastal views in sight.
Despite this, one picture shows an elderly man looking out to the ocean through his balcony doors, and another shows waves lapping the shore just a stone's throw away from the new four-storey red brick building. One person joked that Aspire must have got confused with Newcastle in Australia which is positioned on the coast just north of Sydney.
