Cristian Montano wants Livingston fans to finally see what he can bring to the club.The 30-year-old Colombian confessed he saw last season as a ‘learning curve’ as a string of niggling injuries prevented him from having a run of games in his first season at the club.Arriving from Port Vale, the left-sided speedster only started seven league fixtures in his first campaign north of the border.But he occupied the left-back slot in last weekend’s Premier Sports Cup win over Cove Rangers and is expected to fulfil that role once again as they welcome Kelty Hearts in a game the hosts must win if they are to have any hope of reaching the knockout stages.Montano said: “I used last season more as a learning curve.

I had to get used to a new way of playing, the system and style of football and the new surface as well and the demands of training.“It was something different to what I was used to down south.t“When I first came here I got injured two days into pre-season so I was always playing catch up.

I came back and first game got a knock on my knee then got another knock. I was always playing catch up.“Sometimes your body just can’t adjust as quickly as you’d like.

I didn’t have the pre-season I needed and my body kept breaking down. When I finally did get fit the team was doing really well so I wasn’t getting the minutes I liked.“Last season I was able to show glimpses.
