Livingston boss David Martindale says he’s weighing up ‘three or four’ options as he looks to bring in a new no.1 before next week’s Premiership opener against Rangers.Former Birmingham City keeper Connal Trueman featured as a trialist in a 1-0 friendly victory over Carlisle United on Tuesday while the Lions are also understood to have submitted a bid for Colchester United’s Shamal George. And Martindale also admitted that striker Jack Hamilton’s loan move to Hartlepool United will see him dip back into the market for a striker having seen a move for an unnamed attacker from the Belgian second tier fall through. The Livi gaffer last week confessed that neither Max Stryjek nor Ivan Konovalov had covered themselves in glory during the pre-season and would expect one of them to leave when the new no.1 arrives in West Lothian. He commented: “I’m looking for another striker now but probably a more versatile player, rather than a number nine.“I need to be a wee bit cuter in my recruitment and look for someone who can play all three roles.

Joel Nouble can do all three, Isma Goncalves can do all three and having that versatility is huge.“With the wages we pay it’s very difficult to go and recruit two wingers and a nine, so it’s important I try to find someone who maybe do all three.”He added: “I had someone lined up from the second division in Belgium but it fell through at the last minute.

I’ve got four weeks left and I’m fairly comfortable.“If the window shut right now I would take what I’ve got into January, but I’m looking for an offensive player with Jack going down there and I’m looking to bring in a goalkeeper.“I’ve got three or four different options on that front.
