Livingston have announced the signing of attacker Daniel MacKay on a season-long loan deal from fellow Premiership side Hibernian. The 22-year-old has struggled to break into the Hibs first-team since joining them two years ago from Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
He went back on loan to Caley last term and played a key role in their run to the Scottish Cup final - in which he scored as the Highlanders went down 3-1 to Celtic. The youngster was an unused substitute in Hibs' 6-1 Europa Conference League victory last night over Andorran side Inter Club d'Escaldes before making the move to the Tony Macaroni Arena outfit this morning.Lions boss David Martindale said: "I have followed Dan's career since his Inverness days under John Robertson and he has gone on and played a lot of football for a lad that has not long turned 22."He's very direct, has great pace and a very good right foot, scoring a variety of goals - there's certainly a lot to like about him."Dan will come in and add to our options in the final third - being able to play off both the left and right and has also played through the middle when called upon on occasion."
