Liverpool have completed a double swoop after a dramatic 72-hour transfer dash to solve their defensive crisis. The Reds tied up a £1.6m deal to sign Ben Davies from Preston with Ozan Kabak joining on loan from Schalke.The Turkey international joins for a loan fee rising up to £1.5m with the option to make it permanent for £18m at the end of the season.Davies' signing comes as a big shock as the Reds picked him up from the Championship club under the noses of Celtic.Kop boss Jurgen Klopp said: “What I like about Ben is it just shows that each situation creates opportunities.“I think it’s probably clear that in a normal transfer window, without any issues, we would not look at Preston if there’s a player for us or something like that.
