A sheriff has said 'little could have been done' to prevent the death of a 'popular and much loved' Aberdeenshire farmer. Caroline Rennie, 21, was killed on April 3, 2021 after a horror farming accident which was caused by 'out of character' actions.
Emergency crews rushed to save the young farmer who had been injured by machinery near the Hatton Estate at Turriff but she sadly died as a result of her injuries.
Leading the fatal accident inquiry, Sheriff Robert Frazier said that Caroline, who was considered a pillar of the community, was killed after she tried to jump onto a moving tractor being driven by someone else.
Caroline had been observing other workers using tractors and went to check on progress at the family farm, Aberdeen Live reports.
