Little Britain has returned to BBC iPlayer two years after the sketch show was axed in light of the Black Lives Matter protests. The show came under fire for offensive scenes including ones regularly featuring "blackface", as David Walliams frequently wore black make-up and a large afro wig to play a black woman called Desiree DeVer.
David's co-star Matt Lucas also dressed as a Thai bride, called Ting Tong, a Jamaican coffee stand worker named Precious Little and a Pakistani airport worker called Taaj for Come Fly With Me.
And two years after the pair apologised for playing the characters, Little Britain will return to BBC, with the broadcaster making edits to the programme.
The BBC said in a statement: "Little Britain has been made available to fans on BBC iPlayer following edits made to the series by Matt and David that better reflect the changes in the cultural landscape over the last 20 years since the show was first made.' The return of the show comes ahead of David and Matt's return to television for Comic Relief this Friday.
