The daughter of a woman murdered by a teenager have said the 'callous' killing has destroyed their lives forever. The body of Lindsay Birbeck, 47, was discovered wrapped in two plastic bags in Accrington Cemetery in Lancashire on August 24 last year - 12 days after she went missing.
The mother-of-two had left her home in Accrington for a late afternoon walk to a nearby wooded area known as the Coppice. There she was killed by the then-16-year-old boy.
He was found guilty of the murder of the teaching assistant who was found buried in a shallow grave at the back of a cemetery.
Now 17 he cannot be named for legal reasons. This afternoon Lindsay's daughter Sarah stood on the steps of Preston Crown Court to pay tribute to her.
