Lil Wayne is honoring the late Kobe Bryant. The 37-year-old rapper performed a tribute to the late basketball legend during the 2020 BET Awards on Sunday (June 28). PHOTOS: Check out the latest pics of Lil Wayne For his virtual performance, Lil Wayne performed a rendition of his 2009 track “Kobe Bryant,” where he recognized Kobe’s talents, rapping , “Kobe doin’ work, 2-4 on my shirt/ He the greatest on the court, and I’m the greatest on the verse.” In the next verse, Lil Wayne gave a special shout-out to Kobe’s wife Vanessa Bryant and their kids. “Heart goes out to Vanessa and the whole Black Mamba family,” Lil Wayne rapped. Kobe and 13-year-old daughter Gianna tragically died during a helicopter crash in Calabasas back on February 7.
