The 2022 Grammy Awards viewership numbers were slightly up after last year's record low.The gala hosted by Trevor Noah - which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas - on Sunday drew 8.93million viewers which was just a 1.4% increase from the previous year according to Variety on Monday.By comparison, last year's Grammy Awards - which were a hybrid of outdoor ceremony and indoor performances at the Los Angeles Convention Center - had a record low of just 8.8million. Uh oh: The 2022 Grammy Awards viewership numbers edged out last year's which were unfortunately a record low with just 8.93million viewers (host Trevor Noah is pictured)Variety notes that the total did adjust to 9.4million viewers in Nielsen’s Live + Same Day, which includes out-of-home viewing, but it was still a record low and ultimately ended up being down a whopping 50% from the previous year telecast from January 2020.

Kanye West has pulled out of his headline performance at this year’s Coachella festival, according to reports.The rapper and producer was scheduled to headline the closing night of the two-weekend event, which takes place April 15-17 and April 22-24, but according to TMZ and Variety this will no longer be the case.It’s not been made clear as to why West has cancelled his appearance at the California festival, but it’s also been reported that Travis Scott was set to perform alongside West, and he too will now no longer appear.NME has reached out to Coachella and representatives for West for comment.The news follows a petition that was launched by fans last month to remove West from the festival’s line-up, which currently has almost 50,000 signatures.The Change.org petition was launched on March 17 by a user with the alias Kim Pete, following West’s suspension on Instagram for his post about Trevor Noah which contained racial slurs.

Lil Nas X hit the GRAMMYs red carpet in full force! The  artist flaunted his iconic style in a Balmain look and a sparkling grill. The white outfit, which was embellished with sparkles, featured a structured jacket with a butterfly in the middle, as well as matching pants. The singer paired the look with sky-high platform shoes, easily towering above most of the heads on the red carpet. «Had to kill them with something, I wanted to feel like a king and I wanted to look like a king, so that's what I'm on tonight,» the 22-year-old told ET's Kevin Frazier.
