The predator was sentenced at the High Court in Aberdeen yesterday to life imprisonment. But the “punishment” part of the sentence was set by a judge at just 14 years – after which he will be eligible for parole.Mary’s daughter, Gina McGavin, has relentlessly pursued justice for her mum and last night said the 14 year punishment does not reflect his heinous crime.Speaking exclusively to the Record, Gina, 67, said: “He probably thought he was home and dry – but the fact is he has been held accountable and has not got away.
