Budget supermarket Lidl has issued another warning as they recall more beer from their store shelves. The German grocer issued a 'do not drink warning' as they recalled their Starovice Czech Lager from shelves at the start of this month, due to the presence of sulphur dioxide.

Anyone with an allergy, or sensitivity to sulphites and sulphur dioxide, had been warned not to consume the product and return it immediately.

Now Lidl has issued an update on the recall, warning customers that it has been extended to include more date codes from the affected batch.

The recall was for Starovice Czech Lager 5.0% with a best before date of October 16, 2022, reports The Mirror. This has now been extended to include all dates up to, and including, December 23, 2022.In a notice published online, Lidl said: “Lidl GB is recalling Starovice Czech Lager 5.0%, 500ml - all stock, due to undeclared sulphur dioxide which is an allergen.“If you have bought the above product, and have an allergy or intolerance to sulphur dioxide, we advise you not to drink it.“Instead, return it to a Lidl GB store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.“The recall of this item has now been extended to include all best before dates.“Lidl GB wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”Any customers with queries or concerns can contact Lidl customer services on 0370 444 1234 or by emailing customer.services@lidl.co.uk.
