Lidl is no longer allowed to sell a revamped version of its own gin after changing the label, bottle and strength of the drink.Hendrick’s owners - William Grant & Sons Irish Brands Limited - claimed the supermarket's Hampstead gin looked too similar to their own and breached trademarks.

The Lidl gin had initially been in a green bottle with a diamond label including a coat of arms. But the redesigned version saw the bottle and label changed to something similar to Hendrick’s.Cucumbers, a Hendrick's serving suggestion, were included in the new Hampstead design.And the Alcohol By Volume of the gin was also changed from 40% to 41.4% - the same ABV as.
