As food prices continue to soar, shoppers across the country have been taken a closer look at prices when they are in supermarkets to help keep costs down.
And supermarket shoppers have been left reeling at the eye-watering price of one piece of fruit in particular, with one saying the purchase left them feeling like they had been 'robbed'.
One Lidl shopper thought the cost of their watermelon - that weighed 3.5kg - initially cost a budget-friendly £1.19. However, it was only after checking their receipt when they got home they found it actually cost almost a fiver.
The Manchester Evening News reports that the shopper had actually been charged £4.20 for just the one watermelon, as the budget supermarket had charged them per kg for the purchase.
