Liam Gallagher
William John Paul Gallagher (born 21 September 1972) is an English singer and songwriter. He rose to fame as the lead singer of the rock band Oasis in the 1990s and 2000s, and later fronted the rock band Beady Eye in the early 2010s, before beginning a solo career after the dissolution of both bands. One of the most recognisable figures in British music, he is noted for his outspoken and abrasive manner; penchant for wearing parkas; distinctive singing style, in which he elongates vowels; and signature stance on stage, which consists of him holding his arms behind his back and singing up into a downward-facing microphone.

Liam Gallagher is up to something, dropping news of ‘a big announcement’ set to arrive tomorrow (January 20). The former Oasis frontman teased the news on Twitter, saying: “Big announcement tmoz and I mean BIG bigger than my nose bigger than rkids rite said Fred f**king massive so stay tuned LG x.” How big the announcement is in reality remains to be seen, but it could be related to the sold out shows he’s playing at Knebworth this summer.

Liam will play two shows on June 3 and 4, to celebrate 25 years since Oasis headlined there in 1996. He’ll be joined on the bill by the likes of Kasabian and Michael Kiwanuka, but notably, not his brother Noel.

Noel has flatly refused to consider reforming Oasis for the best part of a decade, though he appeared to have softened slightly in recent years.

He’s recently joked that he would do it for £100 million, but he’s also said that the band’s legacy is now ‘set in stone’ too.
