Liam Gallagher has sent the long-awaited Oasis reunion rumours into overdrive just 24 hours after someone claiming to be 'in the know' suggested a comeback announcement is imminent.

Yesterday (August 5) a Reddit post went viral after a fan told the Oasis subreddit the band would return with a show at Wembley Stadium. "Apparently there will be an announcement within the coming weeks that Oasis will be reforming for a gig at Wembley Stadium," he penned.

He continued: "The person who told me this works within the music industry alongside a well known current band. He has no reason to lie.

And no, I am not making this up." Scores more Redditors were quick to respond, with some suggesting further dates at Heaton Park and Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, had also been provisionally pencilled in.
